Farewell, My Friends

...the Claw has chosen me.  I go on to a better place!

I never can resist quoting Toy Story.  Sorry. :P

Anyways, this post is going to serve as a sort of goodbye. I've really enjoyed the few months I've spent blogging, and getting to know all of y'all has been great, but I just need to take a different direction in my life now.  I'm getting fed up with all the costume drama stuff, and I think I just need to move past the Austen-and-Dickens obsession.   (And even though Ally's probably having a heart attack right now, I've discovered that there IS such a thing as too much Scarlet Pimpernel.)  I'd still like to keep in touch with you ladies, of course, and I'll continue to read blogs and all that, but I'm really quite tired of writing reviews and posting things.  It gets old, you know.  And for that reason, I've decided that from henceforth Yet Another Period Drama Blog is no more.

So this is goodbye, and it's actually a bit hard for me to write this, but I do believe it's for the best.

  3. Happy April Fools, Miss Dashwood! I'm guessing you are very far from serious. I'm afraid this post didn't fool me at all. I've already readied myself--mentally and emotionally (lest I sob my eyes out)--for the "closing" of many of my favorite blogs today. Somehow, it seems impossible for you to give up on costume dramas, Austen-and-Dickens obsessions, and The Scarlet Pimpernel...and writing and blogging. Plus I would miss you bunches if you went away right now.

Oh, but I would grow nuts if I found out this post was real and you're genuinely leaving and I was totally wrong. As Rex from Toy Story said, Great! Now I have guilt!

Hold on, this is no time to be hysterical!
This is the perfect time to be hysterical.
    Should we be HYSTERICAL?

Now you have me quoting from Toy Story, too.

So, I still hope you're here to stay for a while. Good joke, nevertheless...if it is a joke. Is it?

(You really don't have to publish this comment right away if this post is an April Fools Day joke. I'd love to see what the others have to say about it. Wouldn't want to spoil it.)

  7. It was all very sweet and sad but a bit too much to be real, especially since you recently opened up and told us your first name. Happy April Fools Day my dear Mousie! :)

  17. You know folks, all she wants to do is have us all tell us how wonderful she is and how much we would miss her. Be that as it may, let's rebel and talk instead about how well we can do without her.

And now, Miss Dashwood, I am going to serenade you. Prepare yourself.

What a fool I was, what dominated fool,
to think that you were the earth and the sky,
What a fool I was, What an elevated fool,
    What a mutton-headed dote was I!
    No, my reverberated friend,
you are not the beginning and the end.

There'll be spring every year without you. England still will be here without you.
There'll be fruit on the tree.
And a shore by the sea.
There'll be crumpets and tea without you.

Art and music will thrive without you. Somehow [Baroness Orczy] will survive without you.
And there still will be rain on that plain down in Spain,
even that will remain without you.
    I can do without you.

They can still rule with land without you.
Windsor Castle will stand without you.
And without much ado we can all muddle through without you.

Do you like my song? I thought it very appropriate for the Occasion & the Day.

Happy 1st, you mean little girl. I am so e-mailing all our friends and making a Retaliation plan.

  19. This is the second time today you've given me a heart attack. STOP IT.

    (ROFL)

I was about to cry once again! You are the wickedest creature!!!

And I *KNEW* something had to be wrong with that "too much TSP" speech.

Anyway. You are horrid. All I'm sayin'. And so glad you're not leaving. :-D

  20. I'm very glad that I didn't see this post before I read Ally's and heard how you fooled her. Even so, I nearly dropped down dead when I saw this post. If you ever get the teeniest bit serious about anything in this post I think all your followers will mob you and stage a revolt. :P

  25. You frightened me. Ha
But I still can't decide if you really are joking. Hopefully you are. It would seem abrupt, but I guess you never know...

  26. How come everybody figured out she was joking when they got to the part about TSP?? What about the Austen-and-Dickens obsession thing? I mean, the Dickens part doesn't bug me, needing to move past Jane Austen???? Nevuh!

"Cold-hearted Elinor! Oh! Worse than cold-hearted! Ashamed of being otherwise."
    haha. ;-)

  27. Gullible isn't in the dictionary.

*ahem* and yes it's taken me 2 clever months to come up with that entirely random reply to your prank.

So glad you are still around :)
