Quote of the Week 14

"This ugly little pinafore has a very big hem. It will last you for years. You can wear it to college, you can get married in it and then you can get buried in it."
~Sara Stanley, Road to Avonlea (episode: But When She Was Bad, She Was Horrid)

I. LOVE. THAT. QUOTE!!!!

It's a favorite with my sister and me. Oh...so, you HAVE seen that episode? :P I think I might have asked you a couple times...haha... Or did you just snag it off Avonlea Guide? ;-)

That episode has lots of good quotes actually.
"You? Responsible? That would be the frosty Friday."

"I'M COMING, YOU OLD BAT!"
"Sara dear, I know you're upset with me--but you didn't just call me an 'old bat', did you?"
"No, Aunt Hetty, I said "WHERE'S MY HAT?" ...you old bat."

Okay. I'll stop before I make this comment really long.

Did you know, I have a big long list of Avonlea quotes. I'll have to send them to you one of these days. ;-)

Melody,
Mwahahaha, I completely forgot about the Old Bat thing! I've seen most of this episode (it's a two-parter, right?) because it used to be on YouTube in the dear dead days gone by never to be spoken of.
I am, however, not above snagging quotes off of Avonlea Guide. :)
Do send me your list, I'd love to see it!

Jessica,
I haven't actually seen very many of the episodes (maybe 10 or 12) but I've read a lot of the novelizatoins and I do love the show. Anything set in Avonlea is bound to be a winner. :)

I will be sure to send them to you very soon. =) One time my sister and I kept writing them down when we were camping in my journal. ;-) We'd have each other guess who said it and what episode it was from.
Yes, it's a two-parter.
I find it hard to believe that you would remember the exact quote when it was the dear dead days gone by that you saw it. Did you write it down or do you just have an excellent memory?

I wish we could watch Avonlea together...what fun it would be! =)

Melody,
I did NOT remember the exact quote all by my lonesome, but I remembered the gist of it (and the episode it was from) so off I hied to Avonlea Guide (hey, it rhymes!) and found the quote.
I hope I didn't mislead you into thinking I have some sort of amazing memory. (Ruby Red!) :)

A-HA! So you did swipe it from Avonlea Guide. I knew it. I just knew it!!
