Blog Awards and Ramblings

Life has been super, super busy over here lately... so it took me a while to respond to these awards!  Over the past few days (and weeks... ahem, yes, I'm a bit tardy) Yet Another Period Drama Blog has been honored by six lovely bloggers with...

Somersaulting Through Life and Petie awarded me with this one! Muchas gracias!

Lizzy and Sarah awarded me with this one! Thank you, ladies!

Kiri Liz and Miss Woodhouse awarded me with this one!  Merci, mes amis!

So for each award, I need to nominate several other bloggers and pass it on... and to save space, I'm choosing two bloggers I haven't nominated in the past for each award (six bloggers in all). So without further ado, I award the "Your Blog Is Great!" award to...
~Miss Molly at Each and Every Hour (this is my twelve-year-old sister's private blog--if you'd like to be able to read it, just contact me for an invitation! Molly's only begun blogging recently, but I love her writing already.)
~Mel at But when a young lady is to be a heroine... (I recently discovered Mel's blog through a friend and I've been delighted with her period-drama-themed posts!)

I award the Creative Kreativ Blogger Award (okay, am I the only one who's bugged by that misspelling?) to...
~Marie at Moment by Moment (my dear "real-life" friend who writes a lovely--private--blog about period dramas and other stuff)
~Rachel and Sarah at Our Family View from Us Two (they blog about a delightful mix of life events and never fail to interest me!)

I award the Versatile Blogger award to...
~Lily at The Grey Havens (another dear friend who writes a private blog)
~Rachel at A Butcher, A Baker, A Candlestick Maker (no, I'm not really awarding her twice-- the first one went to Sarah, mostly. :D)

The Creative Kreativ Blogger and Versatile Blogger awards both call for me to share a myriad of random facts about myself, but I'm not good at sharing random facts, so I'm going to cheat and utilize a different medium that's been going around the blogosphere lately: Jemimah C's "I am...".

Today I am...

{writing}
Heeheehee... if you only knew how big this answer's going to be.  Let's see...  a final World Literature essay, for starters.  Only a Novel, my current WIP.  (By the way, if you're interested in reading more about that, hop over to my writing blog, because that's where I write about That Sort Of Thing these days.)  Lots and lots and LOTS of stuff related to That Top Secret Endeavor that I hinted about last week.  A book review on Northanger Abbey (coming soon!).  Lots and lots of e-mails to kindred spirits. :D

{reading}
Partners in Crime by Agatha Christie, and hopefully I'll have some time today to start An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott (from my Classics Club list).

{listening}
Songs from Les Miserables (cough, cough), West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera and Fiddler on the Roof on Pandora.com, along with a healthy dose of The High Kings and Alfie Boe.  (If you don't have a free Pandora account yet, get one now.  Seriously.  Free music, peoples. All day long.  Whatever genre you like.  What could be better?)

{watching}
Cranford (2007) with the sisters... review coming eventually.  After I do North and South.  Heh.

{looking}
At the world! Just like the Scarlet Pimpernel! :D I've been trying my hand at some screencapping this week (maybe THAT'S where all my time has gone...) and it's been going surprisingly well.

{learning}
Not to over-commit myself.  :P  I have a tendency to race through life trying to do everything in my own strength, and the Lord has been teaching me daily to stop relying on myself and start relying on Him.  He holds every aspect of my life in the palm of His hand--so why am I trying to run things?

{feeling}
A wee bit stressed, tremendously excited (friends are coming over for the weekend and I have a surprise up my sleeve for this blog in another week or so--okay, okay, I'll stop tantalizing you) but overall pretty happy and contented right now. :D

{anticipating}
The Big and Exciting Thing That I Can't Resist Teasing You About Just A Little Bit More.  Also my SAT exam next week.

{wishing}
That I could instantly teleport to different states so I could meet all of my dear blogging friends!

Heehee.  This is how I feel after doing chemistry some days...
{loving}
The fact that school will be over so very, very soon... if I get off the computer and get to work studying my chemistry notes.  Ahem.

Dear Miss Amy,
I am so very fond of your blog! It has just the sorts of things I love - period drama, Jane Austen, music ... The last of which concerns me most today! I got very excited when I saw the Alfie Boe picture! I have a couple of his CDs and I like them a lot. I think we may disagree on this point, but he's my Jean Valjean.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for your blog! I enjoy it ever so!
His,
Meagan

Meagan,
Thanks so much for your comment! IMHO, Alfie Boe is one of the best singers on the planet and I'm thrilled to meet another fan. I have to say that Colm Wilkinson is MY Valjean, but we can agree to disagree, right? ;)
Thank you for your kind words about my blog--I'm so happy you stopped by!

Eowyn,
I'm so sorry, but your comment didn't show up. Shnibly on the Internet. :P

Mykaela,
I've read An Old-Fashioned Girl about five times already, and I love it more each time! But I've never yet blogged about or reviewed it in any way, so this should be fun. :D

Somersaulting,
Awww, thank you! You are very kind. :D

Hello, darling!

Love your listening list. Very good taste, very good taste. :-D

And whaddya know...we're both reading the same thing. :-P Heeheeee.

Hmm. I will have to rope the Doctor to transport you here. Or me there. One or the other. Sounds like a plan. And then maybe we can persuade him to stay for tea. Make up a pretend a-mair-gency. But then Percy may swoop in to save us from said a-mair-gency. And might not be pleased that it is only a joke. He would just say, "ha-ha."

Wow, I'm rambly tonight. :-P

Enjoy chemistry...hehehe. There are things about school I So Do Not Miss. :-P

Ah, so you have been enjoying But when a young lady..., have you? ;-)

HAHAHAHA.
Wow. So when I read the "Kreativ" thing, I thought "ooh, that's annoying... I wonder if it annoyed Amy?" and then you put 'creative' and crossed it out... heeheehee.
Anyways.
;)
So. No. You're not the one who's bugged by that misspelling. Your Tween is, too. :D

Ooh, I love that 'writing' picture! :D

Oh, how have you been doing screencapping? (And is THAT for Your Upcoming Event, too? ;) )

Haha... and I wish your wish would come true. :)

Silly Blogger ate my comment... or was it just the internet? Either, way, I have to re-post it... and try to remember what I said. : P

Loved this post! We have so much in common, it's weird! : )

Writing - I LOVE your writing blog and just posted a billion comments (okay, maybe it was just three...). It's so much fun to find another writing friend you can learn from! Can't wait to find out what the Big Surprise puppies and stolen bread thing is!!

Reading - I've always wanted to read Agatha Christie. Where should I start? Any suggestions? Ooh, An Old-Fashioned Girl! I read it a few weeks ago and LOVED it, although I thought it was a little like Eight Cousins and Rose in Bloom. But I don't care, because I LOVE the Rose books! : )

Listening - Yes, yes, yes! My sister just got a Pandora account, which is great because Dad doesn't like Alan Menken or Phantom and we were cluttering up his radios. lol! Ooh, you like The High Kings, too?! Awesome! Some friends just introduced us to them and I can safely say that we're addicted. : P I really like Star of the County Down and The Beggarman.

Looking - Ooh, screencapping TSP! I attempted that, but it took me six hours to get halfway through, then I loaned it to a friend. : P Waiting for it to come back so I can finish, lol!!

Learning - Same here. I think I'm finally starting to get what God's trying to teach me. : )

Anticipating - Argh! Can't you give us a few more hints?! Does it have anything to do with Sir Percy? Hehehe, I'm doing the SAT next week, too. Weird. : P

Wishing - Yes, me too!!! If I could teleport, I'd visit my blogging friends, too, but first I'd go to North Carolina where a lot of my friends are. : )

Loving - YES!!! I can't wait. I have one more week, then I'm DONE and a SENIOR!! : ) Happiness abounds.

There it is. I'm done with my extremely long comment. Hope you get it this time!!!
