Celebrate Musicals Week: The Wrap-Up

(no, the picture doesn't match the quote, but I just adore this dress, okay? shush.)

"Dear Andre, what a splendid party!"
"The prologue to a great new year!"
"What a night, I'm impressed!"
"Well, one does one's best..."
"Here's to US!"
~Masquerade, Phantom of the Opera

This blog party was fantastic, you guys.  We had a whopping 29 participants featuring 17 different musicals this week, and the posts just kept rolling in.  Due to a severely packed schedule this week, I haven't had time to read everyone's posts (though I did at least skim each and every one and will hopefully be back later to leave comments), but I am so, so thrilled that you all participated and had a good time.  Without further ado, let's have some links!

{Okay, well, a little bit of ado-- just want to remind you that not all of the content in all of these musicals is appropriate for all ages.  I've marked three in particular that are not suitable for a younger audience, but I would ask that you use discretion no matter what.  Also, though I've read and enjoyed most of the posts listed here-- and plan to read the others ASAP-- I cannot necessarily endorse all the content on all the blogs I've linked to, blah blah blah, disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer.  Don't sue me.  Read at your own risk.  There is no lifeguard on duty.  Have fun.}

(in which Amy inserts random Phantom pics that she didn't include in other posts)

Due to time constraints and whatnot, a few participants were only able to do the tag-- their links are as follows:

(And if I inadvertently didn't link to you, please leave a comment with your link and I'll add you straightaway!)

In conclusion, thank you all SO VERY MUCH for making this party such a success.  I've received several requests to host another one next year, and while I can't make any promises, I would love to do that... so here's to making Celebrate Musicals Week an annual thing if at all possible!

Bravo! Bravo!! Oh, sorry... Brava! Brava!! :)

I loved every bit of this week, Amy. It was superb. I wish I had time to do more posts because it was that much fun.

YES, YES, YES!!!! Second the annual notion!!! Then I, er, I mean, we could do another musical, and I, uhh, we wouldn't have to limit myself, ourselves to only one!!

And by the way, thank you so much for posting all the links here. I was curious to see which musicals everybody had chosen, but not following all the blogs, I was having trouble finding them all. 'Tis a marvelous list. I'm still laughing that you had six participants who all did Les Mis. Well, just proves which musical is the favorite! ;) I just chose one that I knew wasn't as popular so I wouldn't get mixed into a horde of all-the-same posts.

Capital, capital!! I don't think I could say that enough times, Amy. This was definitely a week to remember.

I'm so glad you hosted this party, as I had a marvelous time writing and reading everyone's posts. Musicals are the best and I'm so glad I was able to join in. Thank you so much for hosting it!

And Yay! Glad to hear that you hope to do this again next year.

Thank you so much for hosting this blog part, Amy! It was such a wonderful experience for me since I'm rather new to blogging and I loved reading all your posts.

Now I'm so excited to go through and read everyone else's posts.

Oh, and by the way, I didn't realize how much the 2004 adaptation of Webber's Phantom of the Opera sucks, until I started writing about it. In my second post, I went from "I like Gerard Butler" to "The role of the Phantom requires a breadth of soul and depth of human experience, that is lost on such young and pampered actors as Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum". Celebrate Musicals Week helped me see how bad the 2004 movie really is. XD

I enjoyed all of your posts about Phantom, especially your review of the 2004 movie. You gave it the bashing it deserves. :D

Miss Dashwood, thank you for hosting this party! I had a wonderful time and I am definitely of the opinion that you should make it an annual event. Just to let you know, somehow there was a mix-up on my link here and it's going to "Basket of Pansies". In case you need it again, my URL is http://headinthecloudsandpeninhand.blogspot.com/search/label/Celebrate%20Musicals.

Also, I love the pictures you put up on this post-especially the last two! :)

Lainey,
So sorry your link wasn't included! Your comment on the link-up post must not have gone through. :( I'd be happy to link to your posts in the list, but I need to have a tag to link to. Could you possibly go back and tag all your musical posts with something just for them ("Celebrate Musicals Week" is a good one) and then leave the link in a new comment? Thanks!

Lady Eowyn,
I am so sorry! That's what I get for copying and pasting so much and forgetting what was on my clipboard. :P The link's fixed now.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR HOSTING THIS EVENT, AMY!!!!!!!!

I had SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

Due to posting so much myself, I didn't have much time to read other's posts, but I can do that over the nest couple weeks- which extends the fun for me!!

I left a comment here yesterday, but I must have messed up the word verification, or maybe your spam filter nabbed it because there was a hyperlink. Anyway, what I wished to say was—yes, yes, do it again next year! Maybe you could plan and announce it a little further in advance, so we (er...I) would have more time to prepare.

Also, before this ends, I've got to share with you one of the most beautiful versions of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" that I've ever heard. It's in Dutch—they do some really wonderful musical productions over there!—and this Christine's voice is just crystalline gorgeousness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1Go8dZqKm0

Thanks again for the blog event and for putting up my link. I just just thought I'd mention that I've changed my blogger name from Indigo Montoya to Hannah. Bet you can't guess what my real name is huh? My URL is still the same though.
